The Gospel of Matthew 2020

We celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior by reading the Gospel of Matthew during the season of Easter. The Good Book Club read the compelling narrative of the life of Jesus from Easter Sunday, April 12, through the Feast of Pentecost, May 31, 2020.

Matthew offers some of the most beloved stories of Jesus’ life, with more than two dozen parables. We heard the extraordinary Beatitudes in the Gospel of Matthew and the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations. In Matthew 25, we heard words from Jesus that urge us to care for the sick and hungry, for the stranger and those in prison. And of course, church Christmas pageants the world over have this gospel to thank for the wise men, for only Matthew recounts the coming of the Magi.
